About our Prison Team

Our Team

Our Steps Prison Team is a group of Christian men and women from different Churches in our community who the Lord has called to serve Him behind the prison walls. All the people on this team have completed the TDCJ Volunteer Training and have been TDCJ Approved, and have also attended the STEPS PRISON TEAM Training. We want our team to be completely submissive to the rules of TDCJ, aware of security risks, how to not be a distraction to the men, and to always point to Jesus in every situation.

Inside Team-Some of the men & women actually go inside the prison to minister to the inmates face to face.

Outside Support Team-Some people on our team serve behind the scenes by putting together folders and other classroom items for the inmates.

Financial Support Team- Some of the people on our team help support the team financially. There are a lot of expenses in Prison Ministry. Obviously, there is no passing the offering plate during the services, so we are totally dependent on the Christian community to support the financial needs we have. We purchase bibles, copy paper, folders, pens, etc., and even the products that go into our CHRISTMAS BLESSING BAGS.

RE:GENERATION PRISON DIRECTIONAL TEAM:

We have 3 men and 3 women from our Steps Prison Team who are part of the Re:generation Prison Directional Team. This is a team based out of Watermark Church in Dallas, and only consists of 2 other people, one being the head of the team. This is a team who is committed to get the Re:generation program into as many prisons in TDCJ and other states as we can. Our prayer is that Re:generation will become an ITP class. PRAY BIG!

While all three of these team positions are important parts of this ministry, only the Inside Team is REQUIRED to complete the TDCJ and the STEPS trainings, although, we recommend it to all of our Team members.  The most valuable role that each team member (regardless of their position) has in common is, we all pray for this ministry, pray for each Team member,  pray for each event, and we pray for the men we are ministering to.

(Luke 1:50), that He wants them to Love Him back and that means keeping His commands (John 14:15), and what it looks like to be a man of God (1 Timothy 6:11).

REMEMBERING:

Most of these men will be released from prison one day. Our goal is to help these men become the men that God created them to be. We want to help these men understand that God loves them unconditionally (Romans 5:8), that His grace and mercy is extended to those who fear him
