My wife Ladean and I have been actively involved in the Recovery community in Abilene since 2008.

In 2015, I went on staff as an outreach pastor in my church. In October 2022, while seeking the Lord to put together a proposal for a Recovery program inside our church, the Lord clearly gave me a vision to start a Christ Centered Recovery Center outside the 4 walls of the church. 

Despite all the reasons that I could see this was not possible, my wife and I decided to TRUST the Lord. 

On December 14th, 2022, I put in a 1-year notice at the church where I was on staff. 

In January 2023, we invited 25 men & 25 women from our community to come to a Vision Cast meeting at Community Foundation of Abilene. This allowed me to share the vision the Lord gave me to get a Christ Centered Recovery Center started in Abilene. At this vision cast meeting, I explained that we would need at least 15 men and 15 women to volunteer to come be a part of a yearlong training that is required to help facilitate the re:generation 12-step program to willing participants in our community. From that Vision Cast meeting, we had 22 men and 22 women volunteer to be the “Pilot Team.” This Pilot Team would eventually help launch and facilitate this program to the public. Our “Pilot Team” completed the training in November 2023. OUR LIVES WERE FOREVER CHANGED!

On February 5th, 2024, Steps Recovery opened the doors to the public! We continue to serve the men and women of the Big Country to help them break free from the chaos of addiction, compulsive sinful behaviors, and establish their New Life In Christ (re:generation).
